Marvin “Frog” Couser began the Log Cabin Restaurant in Tullahoma, Tennessee in 1948. Not long afterwards his brothers, Norman and Tom, joined him to round out the team. The Log Cabin became a fun place for spirits, sandwiches and dancing. Many a ‘highbrow’ enjoyed the comfortable and lively atmosphere.
Then in 1955, after betting on the wrong candidate in the local sheriff’s race, the brothers decided, with the help of the new sheriff--to leave town for the bright lights of Nashville. They soon settled at a spot on 12th Avenue and began serving meats and vegetables to their many loyal patrons. By the mid-60’s they had relocated to Thompson Lane. In August 1987, Norman and his wife Viola moved to a new location on Nolensville Road where they’ve been serving up good home style cooking
ever since.
